No fasting is required before testing Principle The Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg) tester is a colloidal gold tester. It uses highly specific antibody-antigen reaction and immunochromatographic analysis technology. The tester contains antibodies that are pre-fixed on the test area (T) and quality control area (C) of the membrane. During the test, drop a blood sample into the sample area (S). The blood sample reacts with the anti-HBsAg monoclonal antibody bound to the pre-coated colloidal gold particles. The mixture then chromatographs upwards due to capillary effect. If it is positive, the colloidal gold antibody will first bind to the HBsAg in the blood sample during the chromatography process. Then the conjugate will be bound by the HBsAg antibody fixed on the membrane. A purple-red line will appear in the detection area (T). The purple-red line is formed by the complex of HBsAg antibody-HBsAg-gold-labeled particles binding on the membrane. If the result is negative, there will be no purple-red line in the test area (T). Regardless of whether HBsAg is present in the blood sample, a purple-red line will appear in the quality control area (C). The purple-red line in the quality control area (C) is the standard for judging whether there is enough sample or whether the chromatography process is normal. It also serves as the internal control standard of the Doctoreyes detector.
Notes on test results Negative results: Any negative result cannot absolutely guarantee that there is no low concentration of hepatitis B surface antigen in the blood sample. Therefore, retesting should be carried out at different times.
Positive result: Seek medical assistance as soon as possible.
